Operations Manager

Location: Champlin, MN

Overview:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the managing Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers within the InterClad group and coordinating with other groups including: CAD/Modeling, fabrication shop, and field staff on major projects to ensure those projects are managed within contract requirements, budget, schedules, and that quality standards and customer’s expectations are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Operations Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the InterClad team members to include Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Set goals and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor employees to meet or exceed personal and professional goals.
  • Run weekly operations meetings with the project management team.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to share knowledge and insights with the goal of developing others.
  • Hold project managers accountable for milestone-based delivery on all projects.
  • Regularly visit project sites with project managers.
  • Develop and foster long-term relationships with customers through quality performance of work.
  • Hold monthly status reviews with project managers for all projects to ensure schedule and financial forecasts are accurate, safety standards are being upheld, and projects are maintaining profitability.
  • Ensure the team manages projects to meet or exceed expected budgetary and timing goals including:
    • Establishing schedule/sequencing plan.
    • Buying materials.
    • Renting equipment.
    • Subcontracting select portions of work.
    • Establishing means and methods.
    • Supervising the installation of systems.
    • Managing field/shop labor and subcontractors.
    • Coordinating with contractor, owner, and/or architect.
    • Handling changes.
    • Tracking costs.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the curtainwall/glass and glazing industry running $5M+ projects.
  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience with proven motivational techniques or experience in a Sr. Project Manager role successfully leading multiple team members with the drive to move to the next level.
  • Four-year degree in construction management or related degree or equivalent work experience.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management and customers.
  • Ability to read and interpret specs and drawings.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel. and Google Suite products (Gmail, docs, sheets, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills to deal with competing customer/personnel needs.
  • Ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and react to these appropriately.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide sufficiently to perform standard mathematical calculations.
  • Achieve goals as established in the annual Employee Performance Review.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of morale, productivity, cooperation, and teamwork.
  • Results Orientated – produce outcomes that are in line with Egan standards for profitability, quality, and safety.
  • Communication - maintain effective and open communications with all internal staff and external customers.
  • Customer Service Focused - customer service and satisfaction is maintained at a consistently high level in dealing with Project Managers.
  • Relationship Management - maintain a positive attitude and cooperative working relationship with all other employees.
  • Time Management – Performed all duties independently and expeditiously with minimal supervision and demonstrated good planning skills.
  • Consistently displayed ability to be able to prioritize tasks.
  • Showed willingness to accept new project challenges, additional duties, and new responsibilities readily.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
