Procurement Specialist (Electrical)

Location: Rochester, MN

Overview

Egan Company is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Procurement Specialist within the Electrical group to support long-term business growth with new and existing customers in a variety of markets. We are looking for candidates who have strong analytical abilities and critical thinking skills to support electrical teams at Egan Company. Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist include but are not limited to:

  • Material Procurement and Management:
    • Purchase and expedite materials for projects and products to internal customers (field leaders, project managers, estimators, warehouse, and management).
    • Assist PMs and Field Leaders with material selection and supplier sourcing.
    • Assist with procurement process improvements.
    • Manage material shortages and work with teams to support the business needs.
    • Maintain supplier relationships and partnerships.
    • Assist with vendor agreements and pricing records.
    • Assist with surplus material return.
  • Supplier Communication and Improvement:
    • Assist the Procurement Manager in improving quoting and procurement processes through procurement software.
    • Attend regular technical meetings with suppliers for updates.
  • Information Dissemination:
    • Monitor manufacturer bulletins/updates and disseminate information to teams.
    • Provide supply chain updates to the teams as necessary.
  • Purchase Order Management:
    • Assist with the daily flow of material orders.
    • Provide electrical commodity purchase order assistance.
  • Lean Construction and Profitability:
    • Participate in supporting lean construction initiatives as they relate to purchasing.
    • Evaluate purchasing data to maximize and improve our purchasing strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years within the electrical construction or distribution industry.
  • Existing strong and trusted relationships with key industry suppliers of electrical commodities and equipment.
  • Experience with Remarcable procurement software or other procurement software is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of materials and products used in the electrical construction industry.
  • Proficiency in using standard office computer programs such as Google Suite, Word, and Excel.
  • Desire and ability to thrive in a rapid and detail-oriented environment when interacting with a variety of co-workers and customers.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Self-starter who conducts duties with urgency and commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others both written and verbally.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods within the office or occasionally on a project site or in the warehouse.

Salary Range: $71,000-$85,000 (subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
